My attempts at Irish Soda Bread

humm... breadmaking trial; not nearly ready for prime-time.

I have a long way to go!


  1. it looks good. Was there a problem with the taste?

  2. That actually doesn't look bad. Lumpy is not necessarily bad. The dough obviously rose, so that is a plus.

    Of course, if it's hard enough to use as a doorstop, or to prop up the short leg on a table, then never mind.

  3. The white loaf came out good, but I used some really old whole wheat and that one, well, tasted like it looked. I used a multigrain cereal mix and the ground cornmeal made it too crunchy; although it's actually much better now, three days later! none of them hold a candle to what I enjoyed in Ireland.
