To those in the diocese operating under the erroneous belief that a Crucifix cannot be on the altar...

  1. Since the crucifix represents what is really and truly taking place at the altar, it was always a dumb idea to think it had no place on the altar.

    Meanwhile, a great many things are often placed on the altar that have no business being there, like frivolous and inappropriate decorations and homily props. The altar is not an ordinary table and should not be treated as such.
